What We Know About Mehndi
Mehndi is the ceremony where the most goes wrong with an outfit. It's also the most photographed, the most joyful, and the one where brides often feel most like themselves.
The fabrics have to work. Gharara and sharara sets that drag badly, heavily beaded pieces that dig in, colours that wash out under string lights, we've seen what doesn't work. So we know exactly what does.
We make Mehndi pieces in mustard, lime, fuchsia, and greens, because those colours are traditional and they photograph beautifully. But we also make them in whatever colour feels right for your family's aesthetic.
Fabric and Kaam That Makes Sense for the Day
For Mehndi, we work mostly in organza, chiffon, and light net, fabrics that breathe and move. The embroidery is typically gota, dabka, or lighter mirror work. The goal is to look rich without weighing you down for an eight-hour ceremony.
If you have a specific look in mind, a reference photo, a colour from your Mehndi decor, a style your mother wore, bring it. We build from those conversations.
Ready to Wear or Custom
We have finished Mehndi pieces in the Toronto studio right now. You can try them on, have them altered, and pick them up in four to six weeks. If your event is more than six months out and you want something made exactly to your vision, we'll begin with a design consultation.
