Sherwani & Groom Coordination

We dress the groom alongside the bride. A sherwani made for the moment, and a wedding wardrobe that reads as one.

In Short

Does Karigur dress grooms?

Yes. Karigur dresses grooms and the wider wedding party alongside the bride, custom sherwanis, wedding-day menswear, and coordinated family looks. Styled by private consultation at our Toronto flagship or virtually, the groom's colour and craft are matched to the bride so every ceremony photographs beautifully together.

Questions

Groom & Family FAQs

Does Karigur dress grooms, or only brides?

We dress the full wedding party — groom first. Every groom look is designed alongside the bride so the colour palette, embroidery weight, and fabric family read as one wardrobe on the day. The consultation covers both looks together, which is where the real coordination happens.

Can the groom's sherwani be customised to coordinate exactly with the bride's outfit?

Yes, and it is the most requested thing we do. Once the bride's fabric and embroidery direction are set, we build the groom's look around them — matching or harmonising the base colour, selecting embroidery motifs that echo hers without copying them, and choosing a silhouette (sherwani, achkan, or kurta-set) that suits his frame and the ceremony. Nothing is off-the-rack in terms of coordination; every pairing is considered.

How far in advance should we book a groom consultation?

We recommend booking four to six months ahead for a made-to-order groom look — three months is workable if the design is not highly complex. Accessory pieces such as a coordinating pocket square, brooch, or jutti can often be turned around faster. The earlier you come in, the more unhurried and creative the process.

How many fittings will the groom need, and where do they happen?

A made-to-order groom look typically requires two to three fittings: an initial measurement and design session, a mid-production fitting once the base is stitched, and a final fitting before the event. All fittings happen at our Toronto flagship (Mississauga). If the groom is based in Karachi or plans to visit Pakistan, fittings can also be arranged at Noori House, our Karachi studio, by private appointment.

Can you coordinate outfits for the whole family and wedding party, not just the couple?

Absolutely. We regularly coordinate looks for parents, siblings, groomsmen, and close family across multiple ceremonies — mehndi, nikkah, baraat, and reception. We approach it as one wardrobe rather than separate outfits: a shared colour story that gives the entire wedding party a cohesive, photographed-beautifully result without making everyone look identical.

Do you offer menswear accessories — pocket squares, brooches, kalgi, jutti?

Yes. We carry coordinating accessories including brooches, kalgi, and pocket squares that can be matched to the bride's colour palette or the groom's sherwani embroidery. Jewellery sets can also be customised for the groom or to complement the bride's look — lead time on customised jewellery is typically four to eight weeks. Bring these into the consultation early and we will plan the full picture.

We are based outside Toronto. Can we do the groom consultation virtually?

Yes. We work with families across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and internationally through virtual consultations over video call. We guide you through fabric swatches and design options digitally, take measurements remotely with a simple guide we send you, and handle delivery once the look is complete. Many of our out-of-town grooms come in for one in-person fitting closer to the date — but it is not always required.

How is sizing handled for a groom who cannot come in person for measurements?

We send a detailed self-measurement guide that walks through every measurement we need — chest, shoulder, waist, sleeve, and length. Our team reviews the numbers with you over a call to make sure nothing is missed, and we build a small ease allowance into the pattern for first-fit adjustments. For overseas clients, we can also work from a well-fitting existing sherwani or suit as a reference.

Is the groom selection online the full range, or is there more available in store?

The online gallery is a small preview. Our in-store collection at the Toronto flagship is significantly larger — fabrics, embroidery samples, and ready pieces across every price point that we have not yet photographed or keep exclusive to in-person clients. A consultation unlocks the full range. If you have a vision in mind that you cannot find online, bring it to us — the starting point is almost always richer than what the website suggests.

Can we book a joint consultation for the bride and groom together?

Yes, and we encourage it. A couples consultation is the most efficient way to align the full wedding wardrobe — we cover both looks in one session, map out the ceremony timeline, and make sure the colour and embroidery decisions support each other from the start. Book a Couples and Family Consultation and we will set aside the time and space for the full conversation.
