The Wedding Resource Centre
An honest, beautiful library for South Asian brides planning in Canada and the US, Karachi craft, North American timelines. Start with the questions you're actually asking: what to wear to each ceremony, how far ahead to order, custom vs. ready, and what serious handwork really costs.
In Short
Where do I start planning a South Asian wedding in Canada or the US?
Start with your timeline and your ceremonies. Most custom bridal commissions take 3 to 6 months, so order early, then plan outfits ceremony by ceremony, because Nikkah, Mehndi, Baraat, and Walima each ask for a different register. This library walks you through every decision; a private consultation at our Toronto flagship (or virtually) turns it into a plan made for your dates.

Ask Karigur
Quick Answers
The questions brides ask us most, answered plainly.
How far in advance should I order a custom bridal outfit?
For a fully custom commission we recommend 3 to 6 months before your first event, which allows time for design, handwork at Noori House Atelier in Karachi, shipping, and fittings at our Toronto flagship. Shorter timelines are possible with Ready Bridal.
What does a Pakistani bridal dress cost in Canada?
Investment depends on craft density, fabric, and scope, a heavily hand-embroidered custom ensemble is priced very differently from a ready piece. Our Bridal Investment Guide explains the ranges and what drives them.
Do you serve brides outside Toronto and the GTA?
Yes, brides across Canada and the US work with us through virtual consultations, with shipping and remote fitting guidance.
What should I wear for each wedding ceremony?
Each event has its own register, softer looks for Nikkah, colour and movement for Mehndi, the fullest look for Baraat, and refined elegance for Walima. Start with Dressing Every Ceremony.
Custom or ready bridal, which is right for me?
It comes down to timeline, budget, and how specific your vision is. Made-to-Order or Ready Bridal walks through the honest trade-offs.
What should I bring to a bridal consultation?
Inspiration images, your event dates, any jewelry you already own, and the people whose opinions matter most. Full checklist in What to Bring to Your Consultation.
