The Sharara Edit

The Bridal Sharara, Considered

The sharara is celebration dressing at its most fluid: wide-legged trousers that fall full and free from the waist, worn with a kurti and dupatta, so every step moves like a skirt without the weight of one. Brides reach for it at the mehndi and nikkah especially, when they want grandeur they can dance in, and it carries hand embroidery beautifully, from gota and resham through to zardozi and dabka.

At Karigur Bridal, every sharara is designed and hand-worked at Noori House, our Karachi atelier, then fitted to you in the Greater Toronto Area. Take a ready sharara home for a near date, or commission one made to order in your colour and embroidery weight. Two studios you can walk into: Karachi and Toronto. One consultation, and your sharara is planned alongside every other ceremony look.

In Short

What is a bridal sharara?

A bridal sharara is a two-piece celebration outfit: wide-legged trousers that fall straight and full from the waist, worn with a short kurti and a dupatta. Unlike the gharara, it has no gathered knee, so the fall is fluid and skirt-like, which makes it a favourite for mehndi, nikkah, and walima ceremonies.

Questions

Bridal Sharara FAQs

Honest answers to what Toronto brides ask us about the sharara.

What is the difference between a sharara and a gharara?

A sharara falls straight and full from the waist, like a skirt split in two. A gharara is gathered tightly at the knee, then flares out dramatically below it. Both are worn with a kurti and dupatta; the knee is the giveaway.

Can I buy a bridal sharara off the rack in Toronto?

Yes. Every piece in our collection can be taken off the rack and fitted to you in the Greater Toronto Area, which suits brides with nearer dates. If you fall for a sharara as shown, you can take it home.

Can my sharara be made to order?

Yes. A made to order sharara is designed with you, then hand-worked at our Karachi atelier and fitted locally before your day. Most brides begin six to nine months out; lighter embroidery can move faster.

Which ceremonies suit a sharara best?

The sharara is happiest at the mehndi and nikkah, where its movement and ease shine, and softer versions carry beautifully into the walima. For the baraat, many brides step into a heavier lehenga or gharara instead, but there is no rule we would hold you to.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes. Brides outside the Greater Toronto Area, or planning from abroad, can book a private virtual consultation and see shararas, fabrics, and embroidery over video before deciding.
